Caroline spent more than a decade caring for her mother through Alzheimer's, and through that experience she came to understand something many families discover the hard way: sometimes grief begins long before someone dies. Today she supports caregivers and people living with anticipatory grief, caregiver grief, and the difficult transition that comes after a loss. She is also an author of Living Beside the Leaving: A Daughter's Story of Alzheimer's, Caregiving, and Loss.
